When you are sourcing weighted blankets, you will see many different prices. Why is one blanket $15 and another $25? Usually, it’s what’s inside that counts.
1. The 7-Layer Design
A cheap weighted blanket usually has only 3 layers, and normal one has 5 layers. In my experience, a 7-layer constructionis the gold standard for quality.
- The Outer Layers:Cotton or Minky fabric.
- The Inner Layers:Non-glue polyester padding that wraps the beads.
- The Core:The beads themselves.
If you skip the padding layers, the blanket feels "crunchy," and the beads make too much noise. Even worse, the beads might leak out through the stitching. If you want five-star reviews from your customers, don't compromise on the layers.
2. Glass Beads vs. Plastic Pellets
